About ESSO
The European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) was established in 1981 with the primary objective of advancing the science and practice of surgical oncology for the benefit of cancer patients. ESSO has a network of over 4,000 members, including individuals and affiliated organizations, and aims to unify the surgical oncology community. ESSO initiatives include organizing Europe’s largest surgical oncology congress, publishing a monthly scientific journal (EJSO), and providing education and training through courses and webinars. ESSO also cooperates with other medical societies within the European Cancer Organisation (ECO) and promotes the value of surgical oncology in cancer care towards relevant stakeholders at the EU level.
