Arrival by train
Basel is an important interchange and transport hub and, with its three mainline train stations, offers excellent connections to all Swiss and major European cities. The Swiss Railway station (SBB), the French Railway station (SNCF), and Badische Bahnhof, operated by German Railway (DB), are all conveniently located in the heart of the city.
Trains from France arrive at the French railway station, which is right next to the Swiss (SBB) station.
Guests traveling from Germany can choose whether to get off at Basel SBB or at the German station (Badischer Bahnhof) near the exhibition centre.
Arrival by airplane
The EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is only 15 minutes from the city centre and the Messe and Congress Center Basel, making Basel easy and convenient to reach.
You can reach the city centre at Basel Bahnhof, quickly and conveniently with bus number 50, which runs every 10-15 minutes. To catch the bus, follow the signs marked “Exit Switzerland” at the baggage claim,then continue following the signs for the bus.
If you have booked a hotel room in the city of Basel for your stay, the BaselCard covers the first ride from the airport to the city centre. If a ticket inspector asks for your ticket, simply show your hotel reservation and a valid ID. If you do not have a reservation in Basel, a single ticket costs 6.60 CHF.

Getting around Basel
The Basel city centre is quite compact, making it easy to explore on foot. For longer distances, Basel has an extensive tram and bus network to take you wherever you need to go.
