As a brand-new addition, ECIO 2026 will feature a course on breast cryoablation.
Breast cryoablation course: one step beyond
Coordinator: Jean Palussière (Bordeaux/FR)
Cryoablation has been developed over the last ten years to treat breast cancer. In the Western hemisphere, the average age of the female population is continuously rising, and so is the risk of breast cancer, as 45% of breast cancers occur in women above the age of 65. It is recognized that older women often receive sub-standard care. The standard radiosurgical treatment is not always offered due to co-morbidities and functional frailty, which prolongs the post-surgical recovery period. In these indications, cryoablation has been shown to be easy to perform, effective, and well tolerated.
This workshop aims to help you understand the indications, issues, good practice, results, and benefits of cryotherapy and to inspire you to add this treatment to your portfolio.
Places for this course are limited. To participate, you must be registered for ECIO 2026. If you would like to attend, please indicate your interest when completing your ECIO registration. In mid-February, you will receive a confirmation email that you must reply to in order to secure your place.
