- S’Albufera Nature Reserve Alcúdia: This national park is the largest wetland in the Balearic Islands and a key stop for many migrating birds from Africa and Europe. Please note that the park is free to enter, but a permit is required and must be requested at the reception centre.
- Mondragó Nature Park: The park has four main nature trails which wind though the scrubland, leading visitors to stunning viewpoints, bays of crystalline water, and wetlands.
- Drach Caves: A popular tourist destination, the caves conceal a large underground lake, which is regarded as one of the biggest underground lakes in the world.
Art lovers
- Sa Bassa Blanca Museum: This beautiful museum comprised of several exhibition spaces, a sculpture park, rose garden, and observatory. The foundation was established by the artists and collectors, Ben Jacober and Yannick Vu, and philanthropist, Georges Coulon in 1993.
History buffs
- Castell d’Alaró: If you enjoy history and hiking, this 4 to 8 km (depending on where you start) route is for you. The castle complex dates back to 902 (first historical record) and consists of a fortress wall, entrance gate, and tower.
Car-free day trips
- Ride the old wooden train to Sóller: The journey takes you through spectacular scenery and only takes one hour to reach the town of Sóller. In the old town, you can visit the Can Prunera – Museum of Modernism as well as the Church of Sant Bartomeu. Sóller is a perfect place wonder around the city streets and check out the local cafes and restaurants.
- From Sóller, take the tram to Port of Sóller: The tram departs from a stop just outside the railway station, and travels to the picturesque harbor town.
- Palma aquarium: Only 25 minutes away, the aquarium is one of the largest in Europe and houses the biggest shark tank in Europe. To get there, take bus 25 from “Porta des Camp” to the aquarium.
